New FOR REC installation for metal recovery

The metal processing sector requires technologies capable of combining sheer power with surgical precision. With this objective in mind, For Rec recently completed a prestigious installation dedicated to metal waste recovery, designed to deliver high performance and absolute reliability, with a processing capacity ranging from 15 to 20 tonnes per hour.

The client’s needs were clear: to optimize the volumetric reduction and metal refining process of ferrous scrap in order to obtain a high-quality output, ready to be reintroduced into the production cycle.

The technological solution: a complete high‑performance line

To meet this challenge, FOR REC’s engineering team designed a solution featuring two top‑level machines from our range.

1. FX5000 rotary shearing machine

The first stage of the process is handled by the FX5000. Far more than a standard shredder, this machine is engineered for heavy‑duty applications.

Thanks to its innovative patented system of self‑aligning, interchangeable steel blades, the FX5000 can process bulky metal waste with optimized energy consumption and minimal maintenance requirements.

The result? Consistent volume reduction that prepares the material for the next stage, eliminating downtime.

2. Z16 Hammer Mill

The pre‑treated material is then fed into the Z16 Hammer Mill, where the real transformation takes place.

The mill acts on the various metal components, removing inert materials and impurities. The output is a uniform, dense, high‑purity product, perfectly suited for foundries.

Why did the client choose For Rec?

The installation completed in Verona was not simply a machinery supply, but a strategic partnership. By choosing the FX5000 and Z16 combination, the client achieved three immediate advantages:

  1. Increased productivity: the line is designed for continuous operation, minimizing technical downtime.
  2. Economic sustainability: improved metal separation allows the output material to be sold at a higher market value.
  3. Made in Italy reliability: the robustness of For Rec machines ensures a long service life, even in demanding operating environments such as ferrous and non‑ferrous scrap processing.
