Sum 2026, new call for papers: submit your contribution for oral, poster, workshop session by 27 march.
The circular economy is reshaping the way we look at waste. What was once considered a disposal problem is increasingly becoming a valuable source of materials. Critical raw materials play a key role in the green and digital transitions. However, their supply is limitedand often subject to geopolitical constraints. At the same time, enormous quantities of valuable resources remain embedded in waste streams such as end-of-life vehicles, incineration ashes, and even landfills.
Innovative approaches are creating new opportunities to recover these materials while reducing the environmental impacts associated with primary resource extraction.
In this context, Sum invite contributions that explore emerging strategies for resource recovery and circular material management, including:
- Critical Raw Materials
- Residues from End-of-Life vehicles
- Resource recovery from ashes
- Landfill mining
- Urban mining for resource recovery
